these songs are an ode to curiosity, the feeling of driving through the mojave desert alone, sex in the sunshine, orange orchards, a haunted summer camp, wrestling with bad brain, and the first time i saw a california wildfire with my own eyes two summers ago. i hope they take on their own meaning for you. reflections welcome.
in our pandemic world, instead of a release show or an unsatisfying live stream, i have created four listening ceremonies to follow. find some headphones, a speaker, or a car stereo, take what you need & leave the rest. reflections welcome.
1~ water
as you listen, walk or drive to a body of water. collect one offering along the way. make contact with the water. what does it have to say? leave one offering for the water
2~ fire
as you listen, light a candle and place it in your space next to an object you cherish. study the flame's movement, mirror its elegance with your earth body
3~ air
as you listen, walk or drive with no destination in mind. turn when you want to turn. wait for a sign and then return when you find it. move freely but deliberately
4~ earth
as you listen, walk to the nearest park, cemetary or wooded area. notice the smells, they will make you wise. find a welcoming tree and place your hands on it for 30 seconds, breathe
